It has been some now since we first learned that Rim intended to release a professional competitor to the Apple iPad. At CES last week, Rim were demonstrating the new device and making a big deal that it is meant for the commercial rather than the retail market.
While in a meeting last week, a number of my colleagues and I were discussing the Rim offering and I have to say that I was suprised just how many of them felt that they could not take the product seriously because of the name of the product. If this was the reaction of just a few people, I am wondering just how many corporates will have the same response, just because of the name.
Maybe before the product is finally released, Rim should think about a name change! Either that or I can see that maybe this product may be dead before it even has a real chance. Especially given the number of companies that seem to have announced tablet offerings at CES last week.
