tsoHost saved my bacon

tsoHost saved my bacon

I host a lot of web sites for clients, that's what I do. So imagine my dilemma when the company that I used to host sites with informed me that they were shutting down. I was in a bit of a pickle as I only had a limited time to get everything migrated and to get everything done.

So I was on the hunt for a new host. Ideally I was looking for a company that had an identical feature set to make things easier but the job of migrating everything over was a daunting one. Luckily I didn’t have to look far. Knowing that tsoHost were supporters of BTN was a good start so I headed to them to see what they could do.

They have a great live chat function on their web site and I was able to speak to someone who knew exactly what they were talking about and once I had told them my requirements they pointed me at a package that would suit. This was excellent and within a short space of time I had access to an account and cPanel where I could start the process.

But the main issue was how do I migrate my sites from my old host to the new tsoHost one. Well they had this sorted too. As part of the package that I chose they could migrate a number of my more complicated sites, which were all WordPress for free, which was great as I really didn’t know what I was doing.

For each migration I had to fill out a form with the information about the sites that I wanted moving. And god bless them they did the rest. Now moving WordPress sites is not an easy business as you have to move the site itself and its contents but you also need to move the databases and this is something that I had no experience in doing, but I didn’t have to lift a finger. Within a few days the sites that I had chosen to migrate were over with tsoHost just as they had been on the old server.

But there was still quite a bit of work to be done but I was not alone. Their support is second to none, and everytime I raised a ticket they got back almost immediately with lots of useful information. For example I had domain names with other registrars but they provided me with everything I needed in order to point them at the migrated sites in order to get them up and running again.

Also, because some of the registrars did not have the functionality to point domains at the sites I had to transfer some domains over to tsoHost but this was a breeze and at every step of the process I could see what was going on and support let me know what I needed to do.

The next thing that I had to do was install SSL certificates for my sites and they made this simple too. Once I had purchased my SSL certificates they took me through an automated process and then installed the certificates for me.

The whole experience has been a good one. And even when I didn’t understand something or put in a setting incorrectly their great support team put in the fixes to get things working.

Everything is now sorted and all of my sites are now with tsoHost. I would like to thank them for all their assistance and also for supporting BTN. If you’re in the same boat as me and you’re looking for somewhere to host your sites I highly recommend them.
