Now Sifteo may sound new to you, but if your a reader of a daily Tech Blog or a listener to our Bagel Tech News Daily show then they wont come as a surprise. These little digital blocks of connectivity were bashed around a TED a while ago and also were the subject a popular YouTube video.
Sifteo are small cubes which have linking property around the edges allowing you to play games and puzzles as the linking increases. They fit kinda like Scrabble Tiles and soon enough no doubt that game will be played for YouTube with these things.
The resolution of the blocks is 128x128px and they have a tiny speaker which play appropriate sounds. At the moment a set would be costing you about $400 for Nine Cubes which is a ludicrous price. But they do look like a lot of fun and they are sure to be a hit with kids, if not parents at that price.
If your interest is sufficiently peeked then there is a video here - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ak--Lfng4I0&feature=player_embedded
I, for one, won't be telling Ellis about these until they lose at least $300 off that price tag
