At first is was only an iPod world, then came the Microsoft Zune. Now its Androids turn thanks to Samsung’s new Galaxy Player. The new portable digital media player is about the hit the UK after a presale launch in France.
Coming January 7 the PMP will have a 3.2inch touch screen, access to the Android Market of apps, and will be available in an 8GB version at £150 or 16GB at £180. No word yet on a US or Asia release.
It has to been said that it’s about time we see an Android media player device after the huge success of Apples iPod touch line, and with an open support of codecs including mp3, OGG, FLAC, XviD, DivX and many more its sure to be a hit among audiophile, and video fans alike.
Could this finally be the portable media that pushes Apple’s brainchild in second place? I highly doubt, but it’s wonderful now to have an alliterative.
