In a curious move this week, Netflix announced that they will be removing the ability to add a title to your DVD queue via a streaming device such as the Xbox or iPhone. The company will require you to log on via a regular computer if you want to add a movie or TV show to your DVD line up. So why make life difficult? Netflix claims it's too complicated to maintain that feature and they want to focus on loading more instant streaming content.

If there is one thing I have learned in life, it's that you should not make your customers row out to another island, or make them click unnecessarily from page to page. Netflix is violating this principle by forcing us to march upstairs to our computers, log in, and click through a bunch of stuff just to add a movie to our DVD queue.

Bad form, Netflix!
