A few weeks back I treat myself to a 42mm Stainless Steel Apple Watch and after waiting almost 4 weeks for delivery it arrived last week.. I specifically wanted the "silver" Stainless Steel model and ordered with the white sports band (other colours are available separately from Apple but you can't buy a different colour sport band as part of the watch). I like the white band for casual wear but started my look out for a smarter band for more formal occasions. The Apple Store was obvious starting point and I was pleased to see that the full range of straps were available for me to try on with my own watch there and then.. I really liked the Milanese Loop, the Leather Loop and the Buckle Bracelet. What I really didn't like was the £199, £149 and £449 respective price tags.. Now I like the hardware quality of Apple products but I simply can't justify £149+ for a watch band when I've just dropped £'s on the watch itself.
Next stop, amazon.co.uk and a simple search of "Apple Watch bands" returned over 24k results, so I set to work looking at the styles and more importantly the reviews for each.. Half an hour later I decided to go for the Milanese Loop from Jetech at £10.99 in stainless steel (also available in rose gold and black). The strap arrived the next day via Prime, well boxed rather than in just a plastic bag /padded envelope which I've found to be the case on many cheaper products. The strap feels very good quality, no sharp edges down the strap itself, the stainless steel lugs matched the watch perfectly and the fit was exact with no overhang from the watch case. If you haven't seen one before, the Milanese Loop slides over the hand and is secured by a strong magnet onto the strap. I can honestly say that on comparison to the Apple strap it's identical and I would really struggle to hell them apart! I've only had my watch just over a week now but I've worn it with the Jetech Milanese Loop strap for 3 full days and found it to be comfortable, secure and looks great!
So, this is a recommend from me if you are on the lookout for a replacement/alternative strap and although the quality looks great my theory is that at 1/18th of the price of the Apple strap if it did only last 12 months then I'm still quids in.
