Last year we reviewed iMyfone Umate Pro which is an excellent utility for optimising the space on your iOS device. Well now we have another product from them to review which could prove vital if you're missing some important files.
iMyFone D-Back is an all in one data recovery solution for iOS and it works really well and best of all it's so simple to use.
So once installed on your computer (there are both Mac and Windows versions) you can simply launch the recovery wizard and choose the situation in which data was lost in order to recover it such as accidental deletion, factory reset, phone damage, locked devices and even if your device is stuck in a recovery loop.
For this example I will use the data deleted by accident option. Once you do this it gives you options as to what data you would like to search for. When you have chosen the program will then go off and detect your iPhone or iPad and when it has found it you can then go ahead and scan for the missing data. Now I only have a 16GB iPhone 6 and the scan took less than 10 minutes on my 2011 iMac. Once the scan has completed you then get a preview of all of the data that it has discovered and I was mightily impressed with how much it found. You can then go ahead a choose which files you need and recover them.
There are a few other features too such as the ability to search iTunes and iCloud backups which could be really useful. This works in pretty much the same way as the device scan you just need to point it at the backup you would like to search.
One killer feature is great if you're having issues with your device such as it being stick in a recovery loop or stalls on the Apple logo at startup. It analyses your system, downloads firmware and then goes about restoring your phone or iPad back to normal. As my phone wasn't having any issues this is something that I couldn't really test but if it does what it says then it could be essential to some. Also once fixed you can then use the data recovery scan if you're missing anything.
To see how the program works you can download a trial version for Mac and Windows and if you're looking to get a copy it is currently on offer at $49.95 and also if you like their Facebook page you can get a further 10% off.
Also if you take our new BTN survey there is an opportunity to win a copy.
