Pushbullet

Pushbullet

Over the last few years Apple has done a great job enabling your Mac and iOS devices to live as one and allow you to seamlessly work between them. However there are still a few kinks that need ironing out and a couple of features yet still to be released. Well if you want to have the complete experience then Pushbullet may well be worth looking into.

To get it set up you'll need to install Pushbullet on all of your devices and sign up for an account (Google and Facebook will do). Once you have all of your devices hosting the client you'll find that your Mac will start displaying notifications for your iPhone/iPad, and not just the usual ones like messages but anything you have set up in Notification Centre. So now you can get updates from absolutely anything you desire. You may however want to turn off the one for Meerkat as I think we can all agree that ones getting a little bit annoying now.

You can also sign up for notifications from your favourite news feeds so they appear no matter which device you are using.

Another great feature is the fact that you can push things such as photos, links and files via the app. All you do it to select what you want to push, select the device you want to push it to and hey presto it arrives in seconds.

A killer is the universal copy and paste. So copy text from your iPad and it will be available to paste on your Mac. Magic!!!

I've only been using it for a few days but from what I've seen thus far this is an app for those with lots of devices and little time to work between them.

It's in the iOS and Mac App Stores now and free.

UPDATE: It's also available for Android and Windows. Hit me up in the comments if you get a chance to give it a go.
