I’m probably right in thinking that if you’re a BTN fan then there’s a good chance that you are your family and friends go-to IT person. Now whereas you can probably solve a multitude of issues sometimes the only way to get things going again would be an OS re-install. If you’re a Mac owner your trusty OS X disk will do all you desire but if you’re re-installing a Windows PC and you’re devoid of the original CD’s then the bane of your life may be finding that elusive driver.
As the internet has evolved it’s been become ever more easy to find the INF you require but when you’re presented with the dreaded unknown device you may well be stuffed. Well that’s where DriverEasy comes in.
In it’s simplest form it’s a driver detection app that will scan your entire system and present a detailed breakdown of the devices you don’t have a driver for, even that unknown one. One caveat though you will require being online so you would at least have to locate a LAN or WLAN driver before you can continue but after that you’re golden.
Initially DriverEasy is a free app but it does also come in premium form. In free mode you can only download one driver at a time and download speeds are throttled to a certain extent. Paying out the funds will eliminate these restrictions so if you’re in the IT bizz professionally it may be well worth the investment.
As well as finding the drivers you can’t locate it will also check if all of your drivers are up to date and present you with the most recent alternatives so well worth checking out if you’re one for keeping on top of things.
I find it invaluable and not as intrusive as some of the other driver detection apps out there.
